What an Awesome First Foster!!

We have had the pleasure of fostering our very first greyhound, Dottie.  What a sweet girl she is!  She has been very comfortable in our home with our other 2 greys and our cat.  She showed some interest in the cat at first (the first one that she has lived with!) but understands commands to leave him alone.  She sleeps all through the night and has never had an accident in the house.  She loves to play with stuffies, loves riding in the car and loves to run and play outside in the fenced in area with her foster sisters.  She is truly a joy to have in our home and will make an awesome pet for some lucky family!

Update on Sweet Dottie

Dottie left our house a few days ago to live with a new foster family.  They needed a hound who was cat safe, which Dottie seems to be so far, so we did some shuffling around with the available hounds.  She was a joy to foster and caught on to house rules and life as a pet quickly.  We're going to miss her!

I got to see her again today at Meet and Greet.  She knew what she was there for and really schmoozed up to everyone she met.
Isn't Dottie just gorgeous?

She thinks this lady seems nice.

Be sure to check back for updates on Dottie in her new foster home.

Best of luck sweet girl.  We're going to miss you!

Meeting and Greeting at Only Day 3 of Retirement

Dottie attended her first Meet and Greet today.  Considering three days ago she was still at the greyhound track, this girl did GREAT!  She is a smart girl and is learning the ropes here quickly.  She is eating well, has done fine on our solid-surface flooring, and is getting along well with my other three greyhounds.  We haven't tried the stairs yet, but I don't think they will be a problem for her.

She rides well in the car.  She likes to lie down and just look out the window.

Dottie seemed to really like the children there and would seek them out.

This was her first time in a pet store and it was a pretty busy day there, but she took it all in stride.

Dottie is looking forward to more Meeting and Greeting.  She will be at the Hermitage Petsmart on Saturday, Feburary 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Come on out and meet her!
